Barns like this one were used to store farm vehicles and equipment as well as other supplies necessary to operate a small or medium-sized farm. This structure is based on a compilation of several Midwest barns. It's now starting to show its age, having been erected when draft horses were still used to plow and harvest the fields. The connected corral was once their home. Weatherbeaten and full of character, this old barn with covered bay displays its age. Wood planked patches are evident in the board by board siding, broken panes of glass are visible in the windows and extra doors and hatches were cut into the walls.

Kit features a basswood sub wall design with custom-scribbed birch plywood outer walls, real wood window sashes and trim, simulated raised seam metal roofing, positionable wood door and hatches complete with interior details, hasp, lock and hinges. Also included are broken panes of glazing for the windows, wood plank wall patches, cast resin water troughs, a crate and a barrel. The corral fence with gate is easy to assemble.
